Sabarmati Ashram

Sabarmati Ashram in gujarat, india
Sabarmati Ashram - built on the banks of the River Sabarmati - was Mahatma Gandhi's residence from 1915 to 1930. It was from here that Gandhiji began his 240 miles long journey to Dandi on foot (Dandi march, 1930) in order to oppose the tax on salt levied by the British. Above: Construction workers take a break from work and the heat at Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad. There was some face lifting work being done there.
